The Cheating Ways of Men

The scent of perfume lingers on his shirt, he spends late nights "working" at the office, he receives mysterious calls on his cell phone…is your man cheating?
The scent of perfume lingers on his shirt, he spends late nights "working" at the office, he receives mysterious calls on his cell phone…is your man cheating? The most probable answer is yes. Today, men are cheating more than ever due in large part to how easy it has become to get away with it. Like a secret agent in the CIA, he can cover his tracks with the advanced capabilities of technology. With the availability of sidekicks, blackberries, and email right at his fingertips, the temptation is there, and many men are seduced by the thrill of an affair.
Infidelity is nothing new, and the reasons why men cheat have long been discussed. From a biological standpoint, it has been said that men are hardwired to want to spread their seed to as many women as possible to keep their legacy going strong. Of course, this is not the sole reason. Men have the option of suppressing these urges, but seem to lack the self control. The male sex drive takes over and, if given the opportunity, he will cheat with another woman. Men want sex, and if they are unsatisfied in a relationship, they will seek satisfaction elsewhere. The excitement of a new sex partner is enticing, especially for those who are bored with their own.
The chances of a man cheating are even greater if the relationship is going through a rocky period. Cheating is an easy way out for men who want to end a relationship but are too much of a coward to actually do it. By emotionally detaching themselves from the relationship, they don't have to deal with the problems that go along with it. Many men run away from their emotions because they are too scared to confront them. Thus, they run into the arms of another woman where they are not obligated to become emotionally involved. Men seem to have this switch in their brains that allows them to turn off their emotions, making it even easier for them to stray and then turn around and return to their partner without much guilt.
A man's huge ego can also be blamed. Men validate their self worth by how many women they are able to sleep with. Each new conquest brings them praise and admiration from their friends and makes them that much more of a man in the eyes of other men. Cheating feeds into the male ego by giving him that boost of confidence he craves. It lets him know that he's still got the charm and is still found attractive by other women. Although most women don't want to believe that their man could ever cheat on them, the harsh reality is that it could happen to anyone, even to seemingly happy couples. Tolerating a man's cheating ways or choosing to be in denial is not the way to go. You deserve a man who loves you and only you!
